CFI Needed.
Must have FAA ASEL CFI, C172 Experience (negotiable) & be willing to move or commute to ELKO, NV.
CFI-I is preferred. Our 172 is getting an IFR-Trainer upgrade this winter (2025) and we have students waiting to train.
You will most likely be the only CFI on staff. You get all the students, all the hours. We pay $30/HR for all billable flight & ground time with students. We provide your initial training with up to 5 hours in the C172 to become familiar and comfortable in the aircraft.
You are also able to fly limited commercial flights in the C172 & C210 for 119.1(e) exempted flights and for our 91.147 tour operation. Commercial flights are paid at $50/HR.
The work is not full time, but can be very busy. Our CFIs tend to be here for just about one year before they have enough experience to jump to another commercial job, and we understand and encourage that. The city has a near zero unemployment rate, which means finding a side gig to work on slow days is very easy. Rent is reasonable, but if you’re into roughing it a bit we can provide a zero-cost option for housing.
This is a direct-hire position, but if you prefer to fly as an independent instructor, that option is available. You can get paid more by accepting money directly from students, BUT you are not eligible for the commercial work and responsible for your own taxes, etc.
