The guidance identifies workers in certain critical infrastructures and industries that have a special responsibility to maintain a normal work schedule. “On matters relating to national critical infrastructure protection and resilience, Airlines for America (A4A), as manager of the Aviation Sector Coordinating Council (ASCC) established pursuant to the National Infrastructure Protection Plan (NIPP), works in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its components, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), as well as the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) , on preparedness for timely and effective protective and crisis response measures. Per the United States Department of Homeland Security, the Aviation Transportation Sector has been classified as Critical Infrastructure under 42 U.S.C. § 5195c(e).
